Mardi Gras has been a passion of Stanwycks Photography for over 23 Years. Many of the Parades line up in front our our studio and we are right there in heart of it all! The colors, The sights and the sounds... We always know when Mardi Gras starts.
Inside the studio you can hear the roar of the trucks that lead the floats coming down Tchoupitoulas Street.
I run outside and wave at the float drivers pulling the floats... they have gotten used to us by now and it's always a happy welcoming waver. the float drivers know they will see us later on taking their pictures... they pose, they smile, they get their friends in on the photos because they know that later on they can take a look on-line and they will be able to show their friends & family their Mardi Gras Photo..."

Mardi Gras Season is upon us! What a glorious time for New Orleans...New Orleans Photo, Stanwycks Studios offers Mardi Gras Workshops. The Workshops start at the Tchoupitoulas Street Studio in the Uptown area of New Orleans. Many Parades are scheduled on the various Weekends of Mardi Gras... There are two weekends of Mardi Gras and Mardi Gras day... Vicki Stanwycks the owner of New Orleans Photo - Stanwycks Photography, has been shooting Mardi Gras parades for years with her team of photographers and assistants, shooting the Uptown New Orleans Parades that end roll on St. Charles Ave and all through Canal Street.
Our Mardi Gras Workshops give attendees a front row seat so to speak, a window to the parades. Depending on the weekend you choose the parades roll right in front of the studio and not far away as to where they are. Much walking and running is involved in our Mardi Gras Workshops...
Mardi Gras is an Experience
You bring your own gear, we supply food for the weekend workshops. Mardi Gras day we have food and drinks at the Workshop Van. We give you a schedule and work with in the time limits the city has set forth, knowing when the roads and streets are opened and closed. Logistics when it comes to Mardi Gras are crucial and we know the when's and where's because we have been shooting Mardi Gras for more than 23 years.
Beginning Photographers, and Mardi Gras workshops for some, are a holiday onto itself like Christmas... "for some, creating images in exciting places is really like Christmas, I know I am one of those people... -Vicki Stanwycks" Mardi Gras Workshops are geared towards travel photography for all shooting levels including the shooter who wants more knowledge to create images on the fly. Client must supply their own Cameras, Gear, Tripods, flashes, etc... We are with you every step of the way helping you create images that represent Mardi Gras. A Little Bit About...
Stanwycks Photography Studio is right in the heart of New Orleans. We have been offering Workshops, Photography Classes and Coaching for over 10 years. Vicki Stanwycks has been a photographer for more then 23 years and started back in New York City with Film.
Photography with film gave a great foundation for Digital Photography. Vicki has been shooting digital since the beginning and was the first one in New Orleans to Post Large Event Photos in New Orleans for Sale. The studio was shooting more than 30,000 images a year for Mardi Gras and posting them for Mardi Gras Goers to look at and Purchase.
